'Hot Shots' - Carolina Gardener Magazine's 2009 Photo Contest

Carolina Gardener's 2009 Photo Contest will award prizes in three categories:

• Plant Portraits: portrait shots of plants, from the exotic to the sublime.
• My Garden: scenes from your own garden.
• Life in the Garden: family, friends, and other living things (wildlife, insects, and assorted creatures).

In addition to quality shots of plants of dazzling beauty and curiosity ("Plant Portraits"), we're looking for those special places you have created in your garden ("My Garden"). Photos for "My Garden" can highlight a particular spot or feature a garden scene. "Life in the Garden" is the place for your pictures of a grandchild delighting in the fragrance of a rose or a hummingbird sipping nectar.

A panel of judges will determine winners based on composition, technical quality and originality. Winners will be announced in the July/August 2009 issue when winning entries will be published.
